Allison Williams Joins Final Season of 'A Series of Unfortunate Events'
Details on the ‘Girls’ grad’s role are being kept under wraps.
Netflix is adding a new face to the ranks of A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Girls grad Allison Williams has landed a guest star role on the Neil Patrick Harris starrer. She is filming the third and final season of the series and will also make an appearance in the upcoming second season, launching March 30 on the streaming giant. Details on her role are being kept under wraps.
Williams joins an ensemble cast that includes Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes, Presley Smith, Joan Cusack, Will Arnett, Cobie Smulders, Alfre Woodard, Catherine O’Hara, Nathan Fillion, Patrick Warburton, Lucy Punch, Tony Hale, David Alan Grier, K. Todd Freeman, Sara Rue, Robbie Amell and Roger Bart.
A Series of Unfortunate Events will end, as planned, with season three. Harris stars as Count Olaf, the evil guardian of the Baudelaire orphans, Violet, Klaus and Sunny. Season one covered the first four novels of the 13-book series, while season two is expected to cover five through nine, and the third and final run will cover the last four. A return date for the final run has yet to be determined. Season two was officially announced two months after the freshman season bowed on Netflix, with the early season three pickup coming shortly afterward.
Williams’ credits include Get Out, Girls and Showtime’s upcoming Patrick Melrose, followed by feature The Perfection. She’s repped by CAA, Untitled Entertainment and Frankfurt Kurnit.
